12/18/2012 class @CP2

The last class for 2012, where did the year go!
Time to start thinking about thank you cards for all the gifts you have received through out this holiday season. Of course mine have to be hand made.
I went with a simple black and white theme, but any colors would still be elegant.

I did a little black edging, other than that the usual class kit.

Following class, I have made a reservation for noon at Amici
4243 Montgomery Boulevard Northeast  Albuquerque, NM 87109
(505) 884-9900
to celebrate the holidays and Liane & Prissy birthdays.

Looking forward to visiting with ever one.
Stay warm and see y'all on Tuesday.

12/4/2012 class @CP2

Today's card has several inspirations.
I have been seeing many cards that are stamped and
then cut to incorporate the faux tile technique.
Then I received a thanksgiving card from a friend and
the focal piece was dry embossed and glazed like one big tile.
So we are combining the two!
Think Mediterranean, the warmth of the sun and the blue sea.
Along with the usual class kit please bring your
paper trimmer
pencil
black edger

11/27/2012 class @CP2

Is it Sunday already?
The last Tuesday of November, oh my!
(only 3 more classes in 2012, gasp)
This week we will be doing the faux letterpress technique
and embellishing it with these dragonflies that I found at the bead show.

The usual class kit including a gold edger.

Since most people were interested in our holiday luncheon being held at Amici on December 18 following class, we will make a slight shift in the lunch schedule and go to Boston's this Tuesday.

10/30/2012 class @CP2

Goodbye October, on to November ...
Started out the week in my usual tee and shorts, now I'm in sweats,
what happened to the transition, boom, it's cold!
Anyway, remember this card?

I have seen a few of you duplicate the technique,
it is a great idea.
Today we are doing the same technique with a twist. We are shuffling up the layers
and using an embossing folder for added texture.

and I was in a blue mood and used tumbled glass, broken china
and faded jeans distress ink with the foam blending tool.
If you would like to use different colors feel free
to bring them along with your foam blending tool.
I also kept my card flat, if you would like further dimension
bring along your foam tape or pop dots.

Class Kit
stamping foam or mouse pad
black edger, ink or pen
temporary/removable adhesive
optional
dye based ink pads
foam blending tool
pop dots/foam adhesive

Enjoy your weekend!

10/16/2012 class @CP2

Well it's finally starting to feel like autumn, crisp & clean.
That's where today's color palate came from along with the images
that belong in a field somewhere.
Today we will be working with glossy card stock and lots of color and layering.
Not much needed for today's class,
black edger or what ever color you prefer.
Today we will be celebrating Nancy's & Bette's birthdays.

Sunday, October 7, 2012

10/9/2012 class @CP2

Today we will be doing a card in honor of Breast Cancer awareness month.
If you are fortunate enough to not know someone who has been effected by this disease,
there is this amazing woman in Florida, who is a dear friend of my mom.
After battling breast cancer and surviving she started a program called Breast Friends and would love handmade cards. This has become her mission in life and full time job.
I would be willing to mail any cards you feel you can't use.
In today's class kit, please include
Gold edger, pen or ink pad
scissors
stamping foam
Enjoy the cooler weather, I just wish a few more balloons would appear!

Jim Purcell

A quick note about Judy's husband ...
Judy just called.  Jim made it through surgery, although it was a long stint.  The kidney they removed was much larger than expected with lots of fatty tissue surrounding it.  It was cancerous.  The doctor said Jim did really well, and Judy is hopeful that she can see him within the next hour or so.  She'll keep me posted as to his condition.
Please keep them in your thoughts.
