4/30/2013 class @CP2

Last day of April, onto May,
before we know it school will be out and we'll be into summer!

Today's technique is one that I learned when I first started paper crafting, paper tole.
I would buy sheets to cut and layer, then I found out I could download and print my own.
Lot's of paper tole going on back then!
Today's card is using one of the blueprint stamps to create a paper tole effect.
Clean and simple with dimension! Another great use for this series of stamps.
Basic class kit including
foam tape
black edger
I used distress markers
scattered straw
mustard seed
pumice stone
stormy sky
but any yellow, blue & gray markers would work.

Enjoy your day, see you Tuesday!

Handmade Gifts

I am so excited to add another class to Scraps Galore.
The first Saturday of the month we will be working on handmade gifts,
(for the holidays) Before you know it they will be here, oh no!

So come join me on June 1, 11am -1pm and create this
Card Desk with Perpetual Calendar.

Instructions for this has been sitting in my "things to try" since 2010,
time to start trying new things!
Wait until you see what else I have stashed in this folder!

Anyway, all materials are included as well as instructions with measurements
so you can make a few more, great gift huh?

Please make sure to include in your basic class kit the following,
score tape/red liner tape, (something really strong)
paper trimmer
 bone folder
double sided adhesive (for the cards)
black zig calligraphy pen/black ink pad (optional for edging)

This is going to be fun, so call Scraps Galore today to reserve your spot!

4/23/2013 class @CP2

Finally, I'm posting Tuesday's card!
Did you ever have one of those days when nothing seems to work?
Well I've had two days of this, what's up with that?
Anyway today we will be doing a modified tri shutter card.
Back in 2010 we did this one.

So the modification is having a card back large enough to write your sentiment.
Here's what I came up with (so many possibilities!)

Now I have to cut all those little pieces, what was I thinking!
Basic Class Kit including
water brush/blending tool
black edger
I used water color pencils, lol no surprise there!

Enjoy what's left of your weekend and here's to a productive week ahead of us.

4/16/2013 class @CP2

This weekend is flying by!
This Tuesday we will celebrate Nancy Yoshimoto's birthday!

Today's card is filled with tons of Tim!
Can be used for a birthday, wishes for a good trip,
enjoy the journey or how about sent with love, just to name a few.
We will be blending with distress inks, die cutting and stamping and
using distress markers on the blue print airplane stamp.
I have watched several video's on using the markers but of course the best by far is from Tim himself.
You can see the video here, well worth it.

Basic class kit plus
water brush/blending pen

we'll be using the following
faded jeans, fired brick & brushed corduroy distress ink pads
ink applicator and foam blending tool
faded jeans, antique linen, vintage photo & tea dye distress markers
you can bring these if you have them.

Enjoy the rest of your day and see you on Tuesday,
Susan *Ü*

4/9/2013 class @CP2

I'm back, actually I'm writing this before I leave, ha-ha.
Here's hoping I return relaxed and serene.
Today's card utilizes a Hero Arts framlits set,
I have had it for quite some time but one of the stamps never saw ink.
I love stamps and matching dies, remember when we used to cut by hand.
I used my trusty water color pencils and we are coloring on craft card stock.
Bring your basic class kit
water pen or blender pen
black edger
coloring medium if you want

Can't wait to see you all!

PS It's Nancy's birthday on the 19th,
so I think we should shower her with cards next week, April 16.
