2/27/2020 Thursday's @ NDB

Well February is gone ...
Today we will be working with this Laurel Burch
image called Wild Horse Run.
After heat embossing on watercolor paper
we will be coloring it with Derwent Inktense pencils.
I have some to share but if you don't want to wait bring watercolor pencils.
Here's a little about them from their website.
"Derwent Inktense Pencils are our best watercolour pencil ever! You can use them dry but mix them with water and WOW! the colour turns into vibrant ink. Once it’s dry the colour is fixed and you can work over the top of it."

Please bring your basic class kit
including
Inktense or any watercolor pencils
water brush or brush & container for water or
spray bottle with water
pencil sharpener
eraser
paper towel
gold edger optional

That should do it,
have a great week!

1/9/2020 Thursday's @ NDB

Wishing you all a safe, healthy, happy & creative 2020!

January birthday celebration Thursday 1/30
for Connie, Katie & Barb.

Our first card of the new year is our traditional calendar card.
I know I have done this style of card in the past,
I cannot find a picture of it, grrr.
My dear friend Hetty in the Netherlands posted this on her blog.
What a great idea!

So this is what I came up with for our first class in January.
Best part it folds flat to fit in an envelope to be mailed!

Please bring your basic class kit
including
bone folder
scissor
liquid glue
tweezers
favorite coloring medium
I used distress oxides & foam blender
shaded lilac, blueprint sketch,
wild honey, barn door
sharpies for details
water brush
optional items
foam tape
black edger

That should do it, see you on the 9th!

5/24/2018 Thursday's @ NDB

Today's card features another Laurel Burch stamp
called Carlotta's Garden.
A friend recently showed me some Laurel Burch cards
made with color bursts rather than all that coloring.
This is a quick way to add multiple bright colors
with a bit of shimmer.

Please bring your basic class kit
including
black edger

That should do it, enjoy your week!

3/1/2018 Thursday's @ NDB

I feel like I say this every month but
wow It's March already!

Before we get on to today's card
we will be celebrating Sue R. and barbara M. Birthday on 3/22.
Also North Domingo Baca will be closed for cleaning
the last week of this month so there will be no class on 3/29.

Today's card is using Laurel Burch dog stamps and dies by Stampendous.
I was going for a modern version of the barnyard animal stack.
The background is using distress oxides or distress inks.
The coloring is sharpie, watercolor brush markers or watercolor pencils.
I will have a variety of sentiments for you to choose from
that have been left over from other classes.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving,
we definitely ate too much!

Today's class will be in the Community Room.

I choose this one for today and paired it up with a Sizzix center fold die cut.
I just love using a rainbow of  colors.

Please bring your basic class kit
including
ballpoint glue pen
poker
tweezers
gold edger
scissors
favorite coloring medium
I used colored pencils and a colorless blender
