Watercolor Postcards

This post card features stamps by Art Impressions.  We will do some of the typical AI watercolor techniques as you create a postcard that you can actually send!

Please bring your basic class kit

including

I will provide watercolor postcard stock; 

and though I will have some other supplies available, 

it would be helpful if you would bring:

·         Water based markers

o    Arteza

o    Marvy Le Plume II

o    Spectrum Aqua Markers

o    Or markers by Tombow, Windsor & Newton, Zig, Crayola, Pentel, etc., etc.

·         Very small brushes, flat or round (2/0-2)

·         Container for water (small paper/plastic cup, etc.)

• non stick craft mat or acrylic block to scribble markers on to.  

That should do it!

So it's been a while since I dug through my Art Impressions box.

Found one we haven't used, so here we go!

Today we are meeting in the Community Room.

I bought this set last March at the Stamp convention.

After I bought it, I researched for tips and tricks to assemble.

Just about everything I saw was on how difficult this is to assemble.

I spent an entire day and was totally frustrated.

On top of that two of the stamps tore, grrr!

Time for plan B. I had all these pieces on my desk, 

many of them torn where the slot is.

I decided to salvage the pieces, 

put a piece of fun foam to give this lady some dimension.

And here she is!

I used colored pencils, colorless blender

 and my sand eraser

July is world watercolor month, who knew!

I immediately feel in love with this Art Impressions

 set called Doggy Kisses.

This is only one of the 4 images plus lots of sayings!

I used my box of scraps from other classes 

so you will have a choice how you finish off the cards.

Well I needed a card for my sister in law's birthday,

what better than those Art Impression ladies!

They just crack me up.

I'm still on a colored pencil kick but you can color

 with whatever your favorite medium is.

Today's card is all about stretching your stamps.

I received this Art Impression set for Christmas.

The sentiments are Christmas related.

The snowman image is great for winter cards.

We will also be working with masking fluid and 

our trusty clear glitter pens to add a little sparkle to the snow.

I love cards that have a unique movement to them.

I love Art Impression Stamps.

Put them together and you have this fun stacker card.

The hardest part was choosing which stamp to buy!

I went with the dogs since the top dog looks like my little Ace!

Too cute huh!

So I couldn't decide on the sentiment, so I will bring the one

 that came with the set and you can stamp it on the inside of your card

 if you would like.
