We will have the card exchange, bring a card and you get a card.
Sign your card so the recipient knows who created it.

Handmade Gifts 1/24/2015

Before the holidays I put it out there for you to give me suggestions
of what you would like to do in this class.
Here is the first suggestion I received.
A perpetual flip calendar.
This is the prototype,
I am in the process of refining a few hiccups that I encountered along the way.
But you will get the idea.
Guess what paper I used for this sample, yup Echo Park!
This class will be Saturday January 24 at 10:30 am
cost is $15.

This class will be slightly different from my other classes because
I want you to pick the paper that you will use in your project.
So stop by Scraps Galore, register for the class
and pick one or two coordinating pieces of card stock.
I used one pattern for the base and one for the calendar.
Please keep in mind that we will be stamping on the calendar pieces
so your paper must be able to show the stamping.
Give your selection to whomever is working they will bag it with your name and leave it for me.
If I have any questions I will call you, (so make sure I have a phone number)
Not sure what paper you want, I will be glad to help you pick out the perfect paper.
Whew! So all these choices need to be made by Saturday January 17
so I can take it home and prep your kit.

Seriously if you have any questions, leave your name and number at the store and I will call you,
or email me at suekapp@comcast.net.

Call Scraps Galore today to reserve your spot
858 1080

Update: Version 2.0
I worked out some of the issues I ran into with the first sample.
Now we're good to go!
Same applies as above, pick your own paper!

4/8/2014 class @CP2

I was so caught up with myself I forgot to post today's card.
I was very productive last week, let's see if I can keep it up!
So today we will be using the new Tim Holtz ink applicators,
these are round so we don't get the harsh edges
like we do with the rectangle one.
These are also designed with stencils in mind.
We will also be using one of tim's stencils,
a bit of light stamping on the background.
The focal image are inchies.

as always bring your basic class kit
black edger
I used shaded lilac &
broken china distress inks
stencil called bubble
(if you have a favorite stencil feel free to bring it)

April Birthdays are
Nancy Y
Joan
we will celebrate on the22nd

3/11/2014 class @CP2

Hope you're sitting down,
Tuesday's card is done!
While digging through my box of new stuff, I found this stamp.
Totally forgot that I bought it.
It sat on my desk for the past few days,
looking at it and pondering what I will do with it.
Then I remembered a new die that I bought,
pulled it out to see if they would work together.
I think it looks pretty good.

So bring your basic class kit
including
brown edger
water brush (or any brush)
non stick craft sheet or palette
vintage photo and applicator
I used distress markers
(any water based marker or ink pad would work)
fired brick
peeled paint
seedless preserves
wild honey
spiced marmalade

That's it, see you all Saturday!

1/21/2014 class @CP2

Today we are using something old and something new.
I received this wonderful die for the holidays,
triple square flip it's, as you can see they are out of stock again.
(I'm so grateful to my friend for getting me one!)
We are using scrapbook paper that've had well, forever.
So colors will vary.
Now I know many of you have used these dies in
one of several classes with Sue Rosenberg,
Today I will show you a trick to extend the back of the card,
creating an additional flap so you have somewhere to write.

Here's the card closed.
(not happy with the placement of "celebrate", but
we can fix that)

Half way open

All the way open

including a black edger
if you wish to add some color to the images,
bring which ever medium you prefer.

Enjoy your long weekend,
See you Tuesday.

11/12/2013 class @CP2

Here we go, hot off the craft table!
This weeks card is simple and elegant.
I can see doing this technique with a variety of colors and stamps.
We are using a silhouette stamp and giving it a shadow.
Dry embossing for texture and a gold edge for a little glitz and we're done.
I considered adding a bow but I wanted a flat card for mailing.

Today's class kit please include
gold edger
tea dye ink
foam blending tool

November Birthdays

12/18/2012 class @CP2

The last class for 2012, where did the year go!
Time to start thinking about thank you cards for all the gifts you have received through out this holiday season. Of course mine have to be hand made.
I went with a simple black and white theme, but any colors would still be elegant.

I did a little black edging, other than that the usual class kit.

Following class, I have made a reservation for noon at Amici
4243 Montgomery Boulevard Northeast  Albuquerque, NM 87109
(505) 884-9900
to celebrate the holidays and Liane & Prissy birthdays.

Looking forward to visiting with ever one.
Stay warm and see y'all on Tuesday.

As we enter October I am really struggling with the holiday spirit, hopefully it hits soon otherwise I guess I will be running out to buy cards, gasp did that really just come out of my mouth!!
So I wanted to play with some new items and I received an adorable candy holder from a friend,
so I combined everything and this is what I got!
The box can hold some sweet treats.
Please include in your class kit,
pencil
bone folder
scissors
(black versafine & foam applicator if you have it)

6/26/2012 class @CP2

Today we will be celebrating Evelyn & Caryl Ann's birthdays!
I can't believe this is the last Tuesday of June ...
My husband is on his way home, hip hip hooray!
The puppy continues to be a challenge, I think I'm just too darn old for this!

Anyway, onto this weeks card. We will be using the new Ranger Patina Paints, I think there are a lot of possibilities here, beautiful colors, opaque and bendable.
We will also be using a embossed resist technique on the other half of the card.
It's a two for one day, new product and a technique, woo hoo!
Along with your regular class kit please bring if you have it
Paint brush (approx 1/2")
non stick craft sheet
sanding block
Enjoy the rest of your day and see you on Tuesday.
