7/2/2013 class @CP2

I have four friends who have July birthdays,
although none of them fall on the fourth,
I thought it would be nice to send a patriotic card.
So this is what I came up with,
hope you have a friend or two you can use this card for!

Basic class kit including
scissor
gold edger

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

BTW, no July birthdays in our group.

6/25/2013 class @CP2

The last class of the month, didn't I just say that two weeks ago?
Today we will be celebrating Evelyn and Caryl Ann's birthdays.

I read a blog post that was titled Stenciled Collages,
I expected more of an art journal/mixed media process.
What I read was a really cool idea for adding color to collage stamp images
without having to color.
I made several samples in several colors,
so today we have some choices.

including
black edger
scissors

Enjoy the rest of the weekend and see you all Tuesday!

Quick reminder we will be celebrating Evelyn and Caryl Ann's Birthday
next week on the 25th.

I made this piece that is housed in a shadow box for my husband
when he was promoted to colonel.
I scrambled to borrow stamps and Nancy helped me out.
So I finally invested in some of my own and they have never seen ink till today.
When I started out I envisioned a card resembling this,

but I wound up with a grungy vintage piece,
and decide I liked it!
So this is what we will be doing today.
Of course if you like the brighter version you don't have to grunge!

Please bring your basic class kit, including
scissors
gold edger
blender pen
foam tape
also if you own,
water color pencils
blending tool with foam (blue & brown)
I think that's it, there's a heap on my desk, haha

Enjoy your day, stay cool and see you Tuesday!

6/11/2013 class @CP2

Growing up on the beaches of Long Island
I often long for the sights and smells.
I guess this was one of those moments.

So I broke out my well loved antique engravings set from Hero Arts.
I used water color pencils on the shells and Gelato resist on the background.
The background shimmers and is blues and green metallic, hard to see in the scan.
Left off a sentiment as I'm not quite sure who I'll be sending this to.

Today's class kit include
blending pen
gold edger
I used a blue & green water color pencil
blue & green metallic gelato

That's about all, see you Tuesday, enjoy!

Catalog of the Month ~ June Technique Tuesday

This new class at Scraps Galore will feature a different catalog each month

This way you can test drive that product.
This will be a technique driven class.
We will usually be creating three items, but that my vary due to complexity.
All you are required to bring is your basic class kit.
I will include a list of products used so if you happen to own them

6/4/2013 class @CP2

Today we are using another of Mr. Holt's Blueprint series,
the globe and making a masculine card.
We are also using one of his new embossing folders, the compass.
You will have a choice of either saying,
but we will be doing the lighter one, since it shows off the colors better.
We are water coloring with distress stains and
inking the background with distress ink and foam blending tools.

Include in your class kit
scissors
foam tape
non stick craft sheet
water brush
if you have the following
distress ink pads, vintage photo,
broken china & peeled paint
blending foam and tools to match above colors

We will celebrate Evelyn & Caryl Ann's birthday on June 25th.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I hope you find time to get a little inky!
