2018

1/4/018 Thursday's @ NDB

It is my understanding that we will be in room 7 on the second floor for all the Thursday classes.

Barb and Katie have January birthdays, we'll discuss a date to celebrate.

I love to fulfill requests,
so we're starting off the new year with this standing easel calendar card.
I used a Hampton Art layering set and distress oxides.
One I used my water brush after stamping, the other is just stamped.

Please bring your basic class kit
including
bone folder
black edger
water brush if desired

That should do it,
Looking forward to getting back to card classes!

12//14/017 Thursday's @ NDB

Today we will be meeting in room 7.

Just a reminder today will be the last class for the year!
After class we will have our annual luncheon at Nick and Jimmy's.
We will also have our holiday card exchange, give one get one.

We will also be celebrating Prissy's birthday today.

I am beginning to explore new companies,
(new to me)
This one is called Crafty Individuals and they are located in the UK.
www.craftyindividuals.co.uk

Today's card we are using the technique called black magic.
This gives you the ability to color on black card stock.
One of the cards I used metallic colored pencils.
They didn't really shimmer on the image so I went over
everything with my clear Wink of Stella.
I also used my clear blender pencil.

The second card I pulled out my chalk pencils.
Exactly like chalks but in a pencil form.
Chalks can be applied with a Q-tip.
Again I used my clear Wink of Stella
and this blended the chalks saving a step.

Please bring your basic class kit

11/2/2017 Thursday's @ NDB

All my November samples are DONE!
No November birthdays, so we can relax a bit.
Today we will be meeting in room 7.

Today's card started as a vision in all white, very elegant,
but that was too simple for class.
So I found an embossing folder that I had forgotten I bought.
Then I remembered the inking tools Bette gave us all one year.
So with that in mind I created something similar but with a removable surface.
Can't wait to show you!
So I was happy with the inking, moving onto the wreath.
After I completed these two cards I still wasn't happy.

It needed a bit of elegance (hard to see the gold in the picture)
so this the one we will be creating.
Now I'm happy!

Please bring your basic class kit
including
ballpoint glue pen
tweezers
poker
gold edger

That should do it!
Save some candy for the trick or treaters *Ü*
See you Thursday,
Susan

10/26/2017 Thursday's @ NDB

Today we are meeting in the Community Room.

I bought this set last March at the Stamp convention.
After I bought it, I researched for tips and tricks to assemble.
Just about everything I saw was on how difficult this is to assemble.
I spent an entire day and was totally frustrated.
On top of that two of the stamps tore, grrr!
Time for plan B. I had all these pieces on my desk,
many of them torn where the slot is.
I decided to salvage the pieces,
put a piece of fun foam to give this lady some dimension.
And here she is!

Please bring your basic class kit
including
your preferred coloring method
I used colored pencils, colorless blender
 and my sand eraser
Gold Edger

That should do it!
See you all next week,
Susan *Ü*

Each card will be different as the leaves in nature.

Please bring your basic class kit
