3/3/2015 class @CP2

The stamp convention always makes me think of Stampscapes
and I have the urge to pull out my boxes of stamps from them, yes i did say boxes.
I was totally amazed and mesmerized watch Ken work his magic at the demo table.
I took his class here at CP2 several years ago.
Sadly they will not be at the show this year.
Look here to see who will be there,
some companies that I have never seen at the Albuquerque convention, yay!

So back to this weeks card,
a simple Stampscapes scene with a brayered background.
The fold is one that Renee gave me a sample of back in the fall of last year,
I'm calling it a modified trifold.

Please bring your basic class kit
including
stamping mat (mouse pad etc)
black edger

FYI, I used
Ranger Stained Glass Ink Pad
Stamps:
Lakeside cove lg
ducks formation
reeds
cattails
pebbles
solo canoeist

March Birthdays will be celebrated on the 24th
Sue & Jerri have birthdays on the same day!

That should do it, stay warm and get a little bit inky!

Last class of February!

This one a little more involved that last week.
Can you believe I don't own a fern stamp!
(or at least couldn't find one!)
So I used my new fern die cut.

Please bring your basic class kit
including
ballpoint glue pen
black edger

That should do it, enjoy your weekend!

Handmade Gifts 2/28/2015

Are you ready for a big project?
This was another suggestion made for this class.
Email me if you would like to see a particular project.
I will have everything cut and scored so we can concentrate on
 assembly and decorating.

The Trinket Chest is at Scraps Galore,
sometimes you just need to see it in person, pictures don't do it justice.
The approximate overall size is 5 1/2 x 6 1/2
Each draw is approximately 2 1/2 x 2 1/2

You will need two types of adhesive
I used
Score Tape 1/4"
Beacon 3 in 1 glue
Both are available at Scraps Galore.
Everything else will be provided.

This class will be limited so,
Call Scraps Galore, 858 1080 today to reserve your spot.
Cost is $28
Kits will not be available.

Have a wonderful week, hope to see you soon!

2/17/2015 class @CP2

Lately I've been attracted to collage type cards.
Here is a basic card with layers of ink and some dry embossing.
Next week's card will be even more layers with inks and die cuts.

I used peacock feather, Tim's stencil and a foam blending tool.
If you would like a different color background, feel free to bring it.
Just make sure it's light enough to stamp the Leaf Clusters stamp.
Also feel free to bring your favorite stencil and blending tool.

Please bring your basic class kit
including
gold edger
ink, stencil & foam blender

That should do it, enjoy your week and see you on Tuesday!

2/10/2015 class @CP2

I would like to thank everyone for their support & understanding
about having to cancel class last week.
This is a very rare occurrence and I hope I was able to get to
everyone before they left for class.
My apologies if I missed you.

****************************************************************************

We do not have any February Birthdays so Evelyn
suggested that we have a Valentine card exchange.
Bring a card and you get a card.
Also it was suggested instead of signing your card put a post it
with your name so we know who the creator is and the recipient has a usable card.
All strictly voluntary, if you want to play great if not you can still ooh & aah.

So we will be doing the birthday pop up that I posted last week.
In case you have forgotten what it looks like, here you go!

Please bring your basic class kit
including
bone folder
glue pen
tweezers
black edger
preferred coloring medium,
I used water color pencils
water & brushes

That should do it!
See you next week.
BTW I'm loving this weather!

Catalog of the Month at Scraps Galore~ February 2015

The February Catalog of the Month is
Hero Arts
http://www.heroarts.com/
2/14/2015 at 10:30am

There were two companies that caught my heart and
hooked me on rubber stamping. This is one of them!

We will be creating three cards with Hero Arts products.
They have a new catalog with releases from the trade show,
I can't wait to order some, actually I have already emailed Elizabeth
with some stamps that are a must have.

Here are the cards we will be creating, heavy on technique,
lots to learn but unfortunate I cannot do a kit for this class.

Ranger distress sprays, embossing & die cutting.

Quickest water coloring you've ever tried.

Sponging, blending & masking.

If you are interested please call Scraps Galore to reserve your spot.

The catalog will be available on Monday Feb 2, or
go on line now and start browsing!

Thanks for looking!

2/3/2015 class @CP2

January is gone!
Here comes February which will be gone in a blink!

So there are a couple of things I am trying with this class,
one is to use what I have, a resolution carried over from 2014.
So far so good.
I am trying to do a monthly card that is unique in shape or folds.
I am also trying to do a masculine card a month.
In January I meet all of my goals for this class.

New month and here is a pop up with stamps that were bought last year.
I did use them in a class at Scraps Galore, time to share them here.
The paper is also from last year.

Anyone who knows me is gasping at the glitter, I hate glitter.
I found a trick that I can live with. It's not glitter I'm opposed to, its the mess.
So I found a no mess glitter application.
I am so delighted!

Enough chit chat!

Please bring your basic class kit
including
bone folder
glue pen
tweezers
black edger
preferred coloring medium,
I used water color pencils
water & brushes

That should do it, have a wonderful week.
I have to tell you this is one of the few times
I'm glad I am no longer living in NY!

1/27/2015 class @CP2

Birthday Celebration Today!
Katie, Barbara, Charlotte

Today's card is all die cutting, gasp, no stamping!
I must admit that lately I get a thrill from die cuts,
They are so wonderful!

Here's today's card, and I know I haven't mentioned it lately but,
I am using up what I have.
This paper has been in my stash for several years now.
The die was bought last year and it's the first time I'm using it.
The words were also bought last year, came in a set of three
first time using love.
I will bring all three sentiments so you have a choice.

Please bring your basic class kit
including
 ballpoint glue pen
tweezers
black edger

That should do it!
Have a wonderful week,

1/20/2015 class @CP2

From time to time someone will request a
technique or to use a specific stamp.
We've all been there when you look into your stash and say,
what did I buy that for?
In December one of your class mates brought in several bags
 of gold leaf or gildenglitz,
asked me to do a card using the product.

So this is the card we will be doing.
I wonder how many of you have some of this stuff in their stash?

Please bring your basic class kit
including
ballpoint glue pen
tweezers
edger (I used gold)

That should do it,
remember any requests
I will do my best to make it happen!

1/13/2015 class @CP2

Needless to say last weeks card was a challenge for some of you,
but you did it!
This week I thought you could use a break and went a bit simpler.
I found this cupcake paper and was really attracted to it.
Not my usual style but the was something about the colors and patterns
 that appealed to me.
So I pulled out my Tim Holtz Blueprint cupcake with matching dies.
Too big, too overpowering.
Then I remembered a small set of blueprint stamps that I bought
sometime last year and those poor babies have never seen ink!

So this is what I came up with.

Add a sentiment with a Penny Black die and where done!

Please bring your basic class kit
including
glue pen
tweezers
I used distress markers to color the image
spun sugar
weathered wood
mustard seed

First Birthday celebration of the year
January 27
Katie
Barbara
Charlotte

That should do it,
Have a wonderful week and see you on Tuesday!
