Today's class we will be working with stencils

using a technique called double stencilling.

These make great backgrounds 

but I kept it simple and just added a sentiment. 

Once I had everything out I made quite a few (understatement)

with two different colors of card stock and

two different embossing powders.

So today we will have choices!

  

Please bring your basic class kit

including

non stick craft mat

white/gold/silver edger

if you have please bring

stencil

 blending tool with a new foam piece

favorite distress ink and foam blender

That should do it!

Today I have a masculine card in a unique fold.

I have extended the card from where it was originally intended to end

 so I can hide my message.

Simple but effective modification.

vintage photo ink and blender

brown edger

Today we will be using the Memory Box English Rose die.

I inked the background with distress in and 

on one I splattered it with water to create some variation.

I also used my purple wink of stella to color in the flower.

So slight differences in the two cards and a few choices for you.

tweezers

scissors

poker

vintage photo ink and blending tool

wink of stella optional

brown edger optional

spray bottle with water optional

uh oh, it's February already!

Today's card is using Technique Tuesday Greenhouse stamps and dies.

I love this series, usually florals this month was a bit different.

I used a piece of Echo Park winter paper and 

couldn't decide which side I liked best,

so I made one of each.

Please bring your basic class kit

including

coloring medium of your choice

I used watercolor pencils

water brush/paint brush

spray bottle with water

non stick craft mat

edgers, navy/brown

That should do it!

As far as I can tell we don't have any birthdays this month.

Unique Cards - Saturday February 13, 2016

This is the first in a new series of classes I am developing.

This month we will be making 3 unique cards.

(other months it may be techniques or gifts)

We will be creating a box card, lever card and a flap fold card.

I will include measurements, diagrams and instructions 

so you can duplicate these cards.

In an attempt to use up the many scraps I have 

from prepping for classes I made a bunch of these

 for my kids to write thank yous.

Well I still have tons of scraps.

I used thank you, but if you prefer another sentiment please bring it!

You can also bring extra paper either a 

card back 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 or 

card front 4 1/4 x 5 1/2

and knock out a few extras!

I always need thank you notes at the beginning of the year!
This one uses the Memory Box piano border
and the notes from a sizzix set.
Sentiment from Hero Arts.
I will show you a neat trick I learned from Jennifer McGuire
on how to keep track of all the pieces in an intricate die cut.
We will be using this trick often, can't wait to share it with you.
