Unique - Saturday March 25, 2017 (Techniques/cards)

This class was a challenge to create and so much fun.

Warning the pictures don't do the cards justice!

Foiling is all the craze right now, but I didn't want to invest 

in a laminator or other machines on the market.

This class is foiling without a machine!

We will make 3 cards with 5 different ways to add foil to your projects.

There will also be some extra foil remnants that you can go home 

with and use them any way you want.

They didn't scan well, but the are also on display at the store

This is a hands on class and I will not be able to do kits.

3/2/2017 Thursday's at Scraps Galore

Hi all, I'm a little behind in getting my March samples ready,

but here's what we'll be doing this week!

We will be using one of Tim's Crazy Dogs.

There are 6 different dogs in the set.

The hardest part is choosing which one to use!

I'm practicing my colored pencils skills

with a bit of Gamsol and my trusty sand eraser!

I had fun making these cards but I couldn't decide on a sentiment.

I will bring extra sentiments left over from other classes 

if you would like to use one.

I also played with Faber-Castell texture dots.

That is the dimension on the card.

We are using alcohol ink on foil.

2/16/2017 Thursday's at Scraps Galore

Today's card started out with a Memory Box die that I've had for a while.

Then I started looking for the perfect stamp.

I came across this Rubbernecker stamp from way back when, lol.

I always had issues lining up the stems with the blossoms.

But now I have a MISTI!

So I put aside the die, didn't work with this image.

Here's the first two cards I made yesterday.

Looked at them this morning and not happy.

Reworked them with a no wrinkle distress background.

Now I'm happy!

Love the sentiments.

Coloring books are all the rage now!

They promote happy, tranquil feelings.

Hampton Arts have come out with a series of coloring stamps.

Today is a 3 for 1 day!

We will color all three images and I will provide a variety of colored card stock

 to mount your image and sentiments on.

You will need to bring your own card backs today.

Please bring your basic class kit

scissors

black edger

your preferred coloring medium

I used colored pencils & a colorless blender

2/2/2017 Thursday's at Scraps Galore

Today's card is perfect for your valentine or

to express your love to a dear friend.

This is a very cool technique and Sizzix has 

released dies that do the same thing.

I will show you how with the dies you already own!

There is a window in the gate fold card.

When it's closed it looks like the element is glued on top of the card.

When you open the gate fold you see the focal point is on the inside of the card!

 

Here are the two sentiments I will bring.

If you prefer something else feel free to bring it!

1/26/2017 Thursday's at Scraps Galore

2017 is the year of the rooster according to the Chinese calendar.

So I thought we would do a card honoring that.

I also felt the need to get inky.

So we are creating the backgrounds with distress inks

 and some random stamping.

I used colored pencils and a colorless blender pencil on the rooster.

fired brick or any red 

wild honey or any yellow

tea dye or vintage photo or any light brown

Foam blenders for all colors

colored pencils

colorless blending pencil

Today's card is all about stretching your stamps.

I received this Art Impression set for Christmas.

The sentiments are Christmas related.

The snowman image is great for winter cards.

We will also be working with masking fluid and 

our trusty clear glitter pens to add a little sparkle to the snow.
