Card Donations

Yesterday I dropped of a 22 1/2 lb box filled with 747 cards that will be part of the packages that the Blue Star Mothers are preparing to send to our deployed soldiers. Their next and final shipment for 2011 will be in November. The boxes will be filled with necessities that can't always be obtained plus some holiday cheer for those serving throughout the holiday season. So all my card making friends, while your sitting in front of the TV watching all the new shows, grab some of those cards you have received and just can't bear to get rid of and re purpose them. Cut off the front, adhere to a card back, place in an envelope and there you go, one more card that someone will really appreciate ... now on to the next card ... repeat ...

Thank you one & all for the birthday wishes via text, facebook & email ... it was a wonderful day! It started off with teaching at Scraps Galore, which we all know I love teaching only second to creating! Thank you for the cards, wishes, singing and sharing treats! You all made my day special. Then Evan, Alex & I went to see Brides Maids and had a good laugh, followed by dinner. Tonight the four of us will go out to eat again since Sami was working last night ... so the celebration continues! At the Tuesday class at CP2 we will be celebrating all the September birthdays so remember to bring your cards. See you then. Here's Tuesday card for those of you who like a sneak peak ...

Hello all, I'm on a roll ... here is next weeks card!

 (I also have the sample for the following week done, teehee)

I kept it simple since so many of you had issues with this weeks card ... we are using distress inks to color the main image. For those of you that have copic's feel free to bring them if you so desire!

We will also be using the Tim Holtz ink blending tool, so there is some technique involved!

Our September party will be on the 20th, celebrating Shay, Rene, Flo, Lucky, Amy, Valerie and me!

Time is zipping by and I still haven't post pics of the most incredible classes I have ever taken ... Tim Holtz. So I am still light headed from the presence of the awesome Mr. Holtz ... the ideas are swirling around in my brain and are overwhelming! Needless to say I had a fabulous weekend and the icing on the cake I have two new friends ... waving to Shay & Cheryl (and of course Cheryl's mom is such a sweetie) ... you guys are the greatest! 

So here is today's card, we will be playing with Tim's ...

products ... texture fades, daubers, alcohol inks, stains, mist and of course distress ink and a stamp, whew! So think of this as a sampling of product and technique, of course there is a ton of things that can be done, but we will start with this.

Good morning all ... finally starting to feel caught up and I'm on the road again! I will be taking a two day class at Imagine That in Roswell with the infamous Tim Holtz ... I'm so excited! Trying to clear my head so I can absorb all the information that will be coming my way.
Anyway ... here is tomorrows card. It was great to see so many of you at Saturday's class and as always looking forward to my Tuesday inky finger fix. Have a wonderful day *Ü*

BTW today's technique is reverse masking.

Our card for the August 2nd class will be using the new Hero Arts Lotus Background and Lotus Flower set. The technique is Joseph's Coat ... you will get to work with the brayer and glossy cardstock.
