Life is crazy!
Sorry about the delay in posting this weeks (tomorrows) card ...
Wax paper resist background, was going for that dried cracked earth look.
I have had this set of Stamp A Mania southwest stamps sitting on my desk forever,
time to use them.
Since the background starts out white you can bring any color distress ink and foam applicator if you would like to change it up! I will have the wild honey and vintage photo for you to use in class.
I used water color pencils to color the image, again if you would prefer a different medium, feel free.
Today's class kit
water brush or blender pen
black edger

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and see you tomorrow *Ü*

8/28/2012 class @CP2

This weeks card we are working with an acetate window.
In the past we have done this with circles or various shapes cut
and the acetate positioned behind the opening.
I was watching a video in which Jennifer McGuire uses a piece of decorative acetate.
See the video below, hopefully it works, haha!

So this was the inspiration for this card, the white swirls is where the acetate panel is.

I do own the die that Jennifer makes the felt flower with
and one day we will also be playing with that!

Include in your class kit
temporary adhesive
FYI,  I used
distress inks, broken china & peeled paint with a foam blending tool
chipped sapphire for the edges

Enjoy the rest of the weekend and see you on Tuesday!

About a year ago or so I just had to have this Tim Holtz/sizzix die and have yet to use it.
My goal this week was to make a card utilizing the rosette.
After a bunch of failed attempts I came up with a card that was ok.
Killing time on pintrest or looking for inspiration ...
I came across a pin by Liane, wa la I was inspired!
Here is this weeks card. Thank you Liane!
Make sure you have included in your class kit
liquid glue aka zig glue pen
black edger pen or pad

Today is party day celebrating the birthdays of

Enjoy your day, see you Tuesday!

Kept it simple as far as embellishments go.
May add a gold peel off sentiment when I decide the occasion.

Class kit
The usual plus your black edger, pen or pad
Stamping foam or mouse pad
I used ripe persimmon & picked raspberry distress inks
and two foam blending tools, bring those if you would like.

Friday afternoon and the sample is done and the class is all prepped ...
decided Sami & I will go for pedicures and out to dinner *Ü*
Tuesday,s technique is call faux chalk board or black magic depending on what site you are reading.
There are two ways to do this, one is with chalks and the other is colored pencils. So of course I had to try both. I do have a preference but I will bring everything so you can choose your medium.

Please include in your class kit
stamping foam or mouse pad (for background stamp)
gold edger, pen or pad
See you Tuesday, enjoy your weekend!

7/31/2012 class @CP2

Another week with the card just finished! Oy Vey where do the days go!
House was spotless on Friday, yesterday my husband decided to bake peach/nectarine pies since our trees are bearing fruit this year. Needless to say every surface is coated with flour & sugar, so after this post I'm off to scrub & scour. Then I need to complete my father in laws 90th birthday cruise album. I started this yesterday and worked all day, just a few titles and a few finishing touches and it will be done. The amazing part is he will actually receive it for his 91st birthday on August 10.

OK, enough about me. I recently spent some time with a friend who besides being am amazing artist, she is a postage stamp collector. One of her collections is of puffins, well low and behold I exclaim I have a puffin stamp and it's never been used. So here is today's card, I really do like these guys.
Today's kit please include your
Black edger, pen or pad
blending pen or water pen
(we will use water color pencils, but if you want to use something else feel free to bring it)
We will be celebrating Sandi's Birthday today.

That's all folks, see you Tuesday!

7/24/2012 class @CP2

Hot off the craft desk ... literally!
My sis and I were having a conversation about pearl ex/perfect pearls after she took a class in
San Antonio. I started looking through all the scans of cards I have made over the years
and came across this one from 2004. Low and behold the same technique!

Since I have a gallon of Elmer's left over from a project my daughter was working on last semester,
I figure why not revisit this technique!
So, here is the card for this Tuesday ...
did you know Stampers Anonymous is bring back some of their older stamps,
so glad I never throw anything out, (don't let my husband hear that one!)

The usual class kit today and make sure
your gold pen or ink pad to edge with is in there too!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend *Ü*

Tim's app ....

Still working on Tuesdays sample ... yesterday's class was a blast, thanks to all who attended.
My stomach is demanding some lunch and then I will get back to the sample. In the mean time check out Tim's new free app for iPhone and android. I downloaded mine last night ... later!

Growing up on Long Island one takes for granted the ocean, it's always there,
longing for the colors of the sea and sand I came up with this card.
The main element reminds me of sea glass worn & frosted.
How this technique works is quite puzzling but it did!
There are quite a few steps to this card but in my opinion it's worth it, I love that frosted glass piece.
Along with your regular class kit please include if you have it,
glue dots
gold edger, pen or ink pad
sanding block
applicator handle (for felt & foam)
for alcohol ink application

7/10/2012 class @CP2

Today's class started at lunch last Tuesday! They had these wonderful vellum printed place mats! Everyone ooh and ah, talking about the possibilities. On the way out the waiter handed me a few extra so I decided to use them on a card for everyone! So I took out my sizzix/Tim pine cone die to make roses. After a few failed attempts I went to the ranger website to watch Tim do it. He said the process works best with card stock, by golly he is right. Plane B was put into action with my new sizzlet tattered garland strip. Then I looked at my new embossing folder and wondered if I could run two pieces of card stock through it rather than having to line up the design. Found some oval pieces left over from the clownfish card we did a while back and viola the card was done!

Not much stamping today, but I really like this card!
Along with your regular class kit please include
glue dots
black edger

Sneak Peak: Quick & Easy Cards at Scraps Galore

Last year many of you told us that your holiday cards were finished by time we did those classes.
We may be jumping the gun here but we are doing Christmas in July.
Elizabeth was kind enough to rush an order into Penny Black and we received these stickers!
Samples will be at the store and right here within a day or so.
In the meantime here's a sneak peak!
So, Monday morning call Scraps Galore to reserve your spot, 858 1080.

Since we were ordering, we figured why not order more stickers since we know how every one loves Penny Black stickers, so this is what we received. This is a real teaser since Liz and I haven't decided which month we will be using these. Stay tuned & check back often!

That's all for now ... off to the treadmill!

Oh wait, I just couldn't resist (or I'm procrastinating)
one more sneak peak, again date to be determined ...
now I'm really off to exercise!
Enjoy your day ... *Ü*
