Today we will be celebrating Evelyn's 29th birthday.

The first class of June and another 

unique fold card.

This one is called a building block card.

Many of the samples I saw on line had a letter on each block.

Here's what I did.

non stick craft sheet

Scrap Cards

I needed to make a set of thank you cards so

I went to my scrap box 

(I bag scraps from the same company together so it's easier to match)

and found a bag of 1" x 12" scraps.

This is what I did and it only took about an hour.

Feathers, hexagons, zippers, oh my.

I made this card for my son a few weeks ago 

and thought it would be a great card for class.

A bit of die cutting and stenciling and a hidden space for 

cash, check or gift card.

peeled paint ink

broken china ink

foam blenders

hexagon stencil

That should do it!

From the time I started stamping I fell in love with their flowers,

birds and butterflies. Then I discovered their stickers, oh my!

Today we will celebrate Lottie's birthday!

Come join the fun.

A special thanks to two of our class members,

Gerri and Joan.

Gerri demoed this technique at the last convention for Stamp a Mania,

she suggested I do this on a Tuesday, thanks Gerri.

A big thanks to Joan for sharing her embossing powder with us to do this technique.

It works with the right product! 

So I dug through my embossing powder draw, 

yes I do have a draw dedicated to embossing powders,

(but don't tell anyone)

and found two jars that looked similar to the one Joan shared.

They are different, but I will bring them and if you like the effect you can use them.

white eraser (to remove stray chalk)

I saw some easel cards floating around out there and some were round cards, 

kinda cool.

So I started playing with some of my shaped dies 

and this is what I came up with.

So when it came to adding color I grabbed my round ink blending tool and 

the felt nibs we used way back when.

So then I thought how about distress markers, 

so that's how I colored the second image.

Looking closely there are only slight differences.

So I will be bring all of the above and you will have a choice.

peeled paint marker

Today's card is very white with a touch of color.

We will be using two new and one old sizzlits decorative strips.

My favorite embossing folder and I pulled out my Gelato's.

Simple but I really like it!

liquid ballpoint glue pen

gold edger

mat or mouse pad

dry embossing tool

poker

tweezers

I will bring all of my Gelatos, 

but feel free to bring your favorite colors.

That should do it, 

I'm staying out of this wind today,

it's killing my allergies!

Come celebrate today, Nancy & Joan's Birthdays.

Today's card is using the new stamp and stencil combination from Penny Black,

did I mention I love this! 

I only wish they included the mask with the stencil and then it would be pure perfection!

We will be keeping it simple today stamping then using the stencil to add color.

This is the most basic use for this product, but there are many other possibilities

that we will explore in the future.

Today's technique was recommended by one of your classmates.

We are doing an emboss resist with distress inks and the mini blender that we used last week.

I just love that mini blending tool!

I used two brand new background stamps that have been in my stash for quite some time.

We will also be using a die cut sentiment from Elizabeth crafts designs,

these cut beautifully and the paper just pops out of the die, gotta love that.

I will bring the supplies for these two color choices,

if you prefer other colors you will need to bring the distress inks and foam blending tools.

ball point glue pen or xyron X 150

(for die cuts)

I was so caught up with myself I forgot to post today's card.

I was very productive last week, let's see if I can keep it up!

So today we will be using the new Tim Holtz ink applicators,

these are round so we don't get the harsh edges 

like we do with the rectangle one.

These are also designed with stencils in mind.

We will also be using one of tim's stencils,

a bit of light stamping on the background.

The focal image are inchies.

Catalog of the Month ~ April 2014 - Elizabeth Crafts

Yes you read it correctly,

Elizabeth Craft Designs will be our featured catalog in April.

We planned on Penny Black but much of their new releases are on backorder.

So plan B went into action, ECD sells these amazing shimmer sheetz,

three different kinds. 

We will be working with the iridescent sheets and 

the micro silk glitter.

We will make three cards with this process,

The first of April, 2014 is zipping by!

Today's card is a sizzix pop n cut, 

I do love interactive cards but they are a little extra work.

So I will try to do an interactive card a month.

The last time we used this die was 02/5/2013

remember this one?

Today's card has a different feel but same mechanics.

 Makes me want to sing "girls just want to have fun ..."

Oh and we get to try out Tim's new spritzer!
